Text Box: Day One,John O’Groats to Cromarty Friday 19th April Our predictions where only partly right, we had breakfast but by the time we got to JOG and had some photos we didn't start riding until 09.45. the sighs were not in the post but the message below said to ring a number and some one would be there in 5 minutes but even though 2 numbers were listed, both went to voicemail! Just as we started it began raining on what was already a cold day but within a couple of miles the sun came out and the wind dropped. We made good time to our first stop at 25 miles but when we restarted the wind had picked up and was fairly strong all day. Although not head on, it was delaying us and me (Dennis) especially, so much so that our next scheduled break at 50 miles happen at about 48 and had taken us around 3 hours. After a break and a thigh massage that I needed we cracked on, I felt quite good and Graham was going strong but we got to about 58 miles but having conquered a couple of hills I was suffering a bit and time was getting on so I hitched a ride in the van for about an hour and a half. During this time Graham pushed on and covered around 25 miles, after this I re-joined him and completed just over 80 In total and Graham around 105 miles.
